Electrical problem with headlight and tail light

I PUT A NEW STATOR ON MY GY6 150 CC SCOOTER AND MY HEADLIGHT AND TAIL LIGHT WON'T WORK, BUT TURN SIGNALS AND BRAKE LIGHT WORKS. HEADLIGHT AND TAIL LIGHTS TRY TO WORK WHEN I REV ENGINE WHAT CAN BE THE PROBLEM I PUT A NEW REGULATOR NEW CDI NEW STAOR PLEASE HELP THANK YOU

I'd get a meter and start tracing voltage. Sounds like it's grounding out somewhere in the harness. Or even in a switch.

I had a similar problem replacing a stator. I ended up buying another stator from the manufacturer's recommended parts supplier. I think that the one that I bought off e-bay was for a different type of scooter or atv.

Is it supposed to come on when the key is switched on, or after the motors running?
