Ok, so I got 80, 82 and 84 size jets and a freeflow filter. I fitted the 80 with the freeflow and it ran loud as hell but no change in speed. Where have I gone wrong?

Also, my 2t oil is from a kind of pump which is adjustable by wire, just like a 4t throttle cable. Do I need to adjust this to suit the bigger jet? Once I accidentally put it up to full and the acceleration was outstanding!

Also, does the colour tuning work the same on 2t's as it does on 4t's, as my dad has a colour tune kit.

It has been my experiance that one needs to fit a high performance exhaust to a 2 stroke before anything else. The problem is any exhaust restriction just kills anything you do to increase intake volume.

Then, a 2 stroke is much more sensitive to jet size then a 4 stroke. A 2 stroke will run very poorly with either too small or too large jet. Hard to say if your #80 jet is rich or lean until you get a good plug read. Then you know which way to go.

The oil pump adds a measure of oil for each revolution of the engine. Some engines have a connection from the throttle to an adjustment on the pump to increase oil at higher rpm - or a better description may be to decrease oil a idle rpm to get better, lower rpm idle. So, with a freeflow air filter, larger jet, performance exhaust, you will be adding more fuel for each rpm but not more oil so you will be running lean. If you think you can add additional oil at all rpm's with an adjustment on the oil pump, that would be nice. Or, you need to switch to a full synthetic 2 cycle oil that provides better lubrication and leave the oil pump alone.

The Color Tune plug should work just fine on a 2 cycle engine provided you have on that matches the threads of the plug. The thing is, however, that they are more usefull for idle mix adjustment rather than performance rpm's.
