Evening all,

Long time since I posted here with my Baotian BT 50, great little scoot it was too.

This forum was always buzzing, what's happened? Sad

Yeah, Hi Andy,

Graduated to Muppets a long time ago when I got my SYM Joyride.

Real pity about this forum, I had an early chinese bike with all the upgrades, 72cc of raw power!

Lots of good advice & laughs were had on here & the old Proboards Forum before it.

GP was the Man! Cool

Maybe a push to attract new riders to the forum will help. Load of new Chinese scoots around so potential new posters/members. Perhaps also some club events, camps etc would help.

Must admit, I'm a rare poster as well, thought belated new year resolution to do better Wink

Alas, its not a lack of effort.

Forumwise came under a massive spam attack. to try & stop it they banned all links including pictures. This was to be a temporary move, but that was in late 2012 & nothing has been done since.
The ban kills our ability to do much as much diagnostic help we offered was done through looking at pictures or offering how to videos.
Forumwise is dying & many of its active forums have already fled to other hosting sites.

This place is a goner, just waiting for someone to start up a new one. I don't think Ginger Phil will, as he has already moved this forum once, when we moved here from Proboards back in 2007

the problem with all forums is we all grow up!! Embarassed
16-17 year olds join scoot forums just before they are 16 and stay til 17, a few stay on who use their scoot as a commuter then there are a group of us elders either running garages using for help or giving advice or use scoots as cheap commuters.
the problem as I see it working with scoots is Chinese are poorly built, allways seem to be breaking down and plastics breaking as compared to European ones, I speak from customers coming in, that's everything from cheap scoots to expensive race and cruisers.
if you buy something you are not happy with you sell it and don't have anything to do with it again. its only the mid to older age riders that buy their favourite bike and stay with the marque for longer often changing for another of the same marque.
you stay with a GSXR-600-750-1100 -SRAD-K slingshot and change within the version or Triumph -Daytona-Thunderbird-Bonneville-Tiger-America within the manufacturer.

if you buy a Hyosung you could move 50-125-250-650 but Pulse or Skyjet etc are 50 or 125 so that covers 16-20 year olds but not older so you will only have a captive membership for 4 years max.

I can see where you are coming from, and it does seem as if the death bells are sounding. Thats why its probably good to work with decent dealers and promote the club to new owners.
There are some riders that use their scoots for commuting that might want a more social side of scooting as well.
The other positive sign is the bigger affordable scoots from WK. These could attract a whole new group of riders.
fingers crossed

Hi, I haven't been on here in a while. Relationships, job moves and lack of money for luxuries like internet take their toll unfortunately.
I'm building a Honda 90 at the moment, so I go in the C90 club a lot, and of course, on Facebook.....
