My new scooter seems a bit hesitant when I accerelrate maybe like it's choking or getting too much fuel. I live at a high altitude 5500 ft, would I need some carburation adjustments?
tks,

What colour is your plug? It's all the info you'll ever need to diagnose how your engine is running. If it's black and sooty, you're too rich so go down a jet size. If it's white and speckly, you're running lean so upjet slightly. if it's brown or tan, you're spot on._________________

Spark plug looked really good. Engine hesitation stalled motor today when I came home from work. It really acted up today. I've added some octane booster, but it's not helping much. Wonder if I'm getting a plugged jet or if it's trying to flood the engine, cause it seems to happen more apparently when I'm trying to accelerate.
Still puzzled!

jbryant mine was doing that also last week ,I took out the plug and put it back in with the same probs, took it out again and wirebrushed the threads on the plug and sprayed a shot of WD40 on the threads on the plug hole and OH HA ,it ran like a top again, maybe too many diposits set up on the plug threads and there was not enough ground contact for the plug,I know it sounds kinda strange ,but it worked for me and maybe a help for you also
Let me know if it was any help??

Yeah,
I had taken out the plug and cleaned it a bit while I was examining it. The scooter only has about 350 kilometers on it since I got it in June. It ran just fine for the first couple months. The plug is easy to get out, so I'll try cleaning the threads a little better.
tks,
jb

I totally agreee with fox, that sounds like what was happening ti my bike, everything was running fine then it lost power, wouldnt idle, kept cutting out, checked the valve clearence, had NO clearence on the Exhaust valve at all!!! reset, its like a new bike! its amazing the difference it can make!
Check 'em out!
