Any paint that is zinc based works great as an undercoat prior to a top covering of any other high temp paint you want to apply. Just remember the preparation (a damn good cleaning with at least a wire brush) is essential.

| Youve just given me a great idea, I have a friend who works in hot metal powder coating. They make display racks. I'm wondering how an exhaust pipe would stand up to being powder coated?

You cant rust proof the inside of a pipe anyway, thats where most of the rust occurs, due to the heat and condensation._________________
