I love the Fall! It's my favorite time of the year... crisp, cool days, just right for scooter cruising in all your hot protective gear. Beautiful colors are all around you and the world sings. At least that's my take on fall...

But eventually, the cool breezes give way to truly cold, biting winds that freeze your face, fingers and knees... even behind the protection of the farings and your windshield.

The roads are often wetter and slipperier too. Time to think about putting your scooter away for the year. (Unless you happen to be one of those intrepid souls who think nothing of slapping on the snowmobile suit and hopping on the scooter, no matter how much snow or ice have landed on the pavement!)

Most of us will opt to put the scooter away and revert to boring car driving again.

Not the first time, either. At least one other post appears to be cut-and-pasted directly from Kathi's website. Interesting.

By the way, nice site, Kathi.

Ugh, It's not cool to copy stuff off other sites just to be lazy. And I don't mean to seem to be defending it. But, I've spent hours working on schematics, and drawings, "how to's" and stuff and posted them on the internet KNOWING that the second I do a hundred people are copying them, saving the stuff to their computers, posting them on other forums to be altered and who knows what else.

The internet as a whole is "public access". You can't "plagiarize" something that's given freely to the public. Kathi's web site IS AMAZING! :D You should be really proud of it! Looks great, and has a LOT of great stuff on it! STILL, it's not set up as a private site, or club requiring purchase or membership. That means any and everyone can copy all day long till their computers explode and it's all fair / legal.

I've seen "how to's" I've done on gunsmithing posted on other forums WITH OTHER PEOPLES WATERMARKS ON THE PICTURES! Sucks, but again... "Public Access". All's fair. Confused

Still, nice site! Be proud of what you did! Wink

Look at it this way. What you did (while being used inappropriately) is still helping other people. That's what it's really all about, and why we put forth the effort right?

Actually plagiarism is not a legal term. It simply means taking someone elses (normally written) idea and claiming it as yours.

When there's a legal aspect to it it's usually called "breach of copyright"... :D

I live right on the edge of the snowbelt. Western NC sees about 2 good snows a year, but it still gets down to well below freezing especially in Feb.
Unless there is snow & ice on the road, I typically ride year round. Most air-cooled motors are much peppier during the cold months.
For about 6yrs, my scooter was my only means of getting around, so I had to find a way around the cold. What worked best for me was wearing a non-porous jacket like a hooded rain suit, with a winter-weight inner jacket liner. a full face helmet, & a pair of thinsulate gloves. (the ones with longer wristcuffs that can fit over jacket sleeves work the best) I also ordered a few pairs of thermal lined carpenter jeans off Ebay. They're awesome for keeping the legs nice & warm.
Very effective in locking out the windchill & I wasn't bundled in so many layers that I couldn't move. I'm not sure though if it was the ride itself that I enjoyed, or the fact my transportation cost were next to nill, while gas prices were killing everyone else around me.

The fact is, there was an attempt at misrepresentation whether the content was protected or not. "I love...It's my.." Someone else's personal opinion was presented as his own, presumably because he liked the sound of it.

And all is NOT fair on the internet. There is still such a thing as intellectual property. There is a great deal that you can find on the internet that is protected property and can be the subject of litigation if copied or altered. But most of the time, that's taken care of through a simple reference...by saying "I found this on the Magic Moped forum" or something like that. Simply cutting and pasting without that kind of reference - and doing it multiple times - is at the least lazy and at its worst an attempt to present himself as someone with capabilities which he doesn't possess.

oh well I was enjoying the post and the comment took me to a site I'm going to put in favorites and gander at from time to time. I think the wording was fantastic and the author should have a right to demand, Yes Demand the words be taken out of the post. It is her intellictual property. Agree on the Karma-.
