Hi,
I get a funny intermitant noise from my scooter while riding it. Almost sounded like a little rock or nut loose in the clutch area. No noise is observed when the engine runs the rear wheel in a free wheel mode with no weight. Now it has progressed to a little squeal now and then.
Any ideas?
tks

My scooter is only a few months old. I'm a little hesitant to take off all the hardware on the side of the scooter, and I don't have a detailed scooter manual. It's a Viva YY150 scooter from Shanghai motors. There are not to many scooter shops that will work on the Chinese scooter. I'm still looking for a good one here in Utah.
tks.

Browse this forum, there's plenty of info. To buy a Chinese scooter, one must accept the burden of doing your own maintenance and some troubleshooting too. |

Yeah, I see that now. It's too bad I can't find a manual or even a basic chinese scooter manual. They probably follow the same idea. This is one reason I joined this club to get some good info from other owners. I'm thinking some of my noise could be caused by a belt that may need adjusting, but what do I know until I open it up.
tks

Download it. Keep it around. 200 pages of generic information on all these Chinese scooters regardless of type or engine size. Some specifics are different but that won't stop you from learning the basics.
Here's another thread where I suggest viewing some "how do CVTs work" videos. It's not as scary once you've opened it up yourself.

You think we all know automatically what kind/size your scooter is?
You really need to put your location in your profile as well so we can point you to parts.
C'mon man! Use your head!
Here's a manual: Save it!
