On my way home from the store today, My tire went flat. No rips no punctures, so I think the tire is salvagable. When I turned the valve cap, the whole valve stem came off in my hand. From the looks of it, the rubber had melted around the stem, and the metal part was left hanging.
Question: Is there anything available that might be sturdier? Like screw-in stems you find on some aftermarket car wheels? I'd get the front one done too since it can't be too far behind the back one from letting go as well... |

| You probably got a defective valve. I've never heard of one melting. Just buy another at the tire store. |

How many miles on this scoot? Sounds like there was not enough sulfur mixed into the rubber that was used in your valve stem. Sulfur vulcanizes(allows the rubber to harden or cure) the rubber. Tuesday was one of the hottest days of the year in the GA area.

| I'm roughly 11,900miles. I don't know if the stems are originals or not. they both look rather rough. I was gonna see about some screw-ins or at the least vertical ones witout the 90* bend. I'd check the pressure more often if they at least felt sturdier... |
