| Tue Jul 22, 2008 10:38 pm Suki seems to be worn out? what can I do? |
|
|
Hiya all, (long rant, but I don't know what to do) sorry.
my scooter is on her last legs or so it seems?, she's only a year old. :(
the engine seems to be knackard (so Gazz my BF says, and hes an Ex machanic)
the body work is fooked, bashes all over the place, from our old scooter rack that went on the back of the motorhome.
(but body work isnt everything)
the main thing is that Suki judders, makes an awful noise, like an old pug vivacity 100,, the scoot I had before Suki.
most days she starts ok, then the next she doesnt..
Gazz said theres nothing I can do about the scoot, just wait until it doesnt work anymore.. or the wheels fall off.. then sell it on ebay as spares or repairs.. :/
just great.. cost us £899 new from The Internet Bike Shop! now she's worth about £100 if that.. (brought her April 2007)
she just acts silly, like today, 4 times she started ok, then the next she didnt start very well.. and was ppppp down the road... chugging..
when I come up to junctions she stalls.. then sometimes shes ok..
anyway that's enough moaning, I just dont know what do to anymore,
just lately everything is fooking up with her.
When she's acting Ok, she's a great little scooter..
(gazz tinkered with the tick over and left the choke on the other week, but now she lagging again)
she likes to goo.. but just dont get it!
its sounds like she is going to die any moment, if she does that I'm stuffed. :(
(no freedom) ahhh!
is anyone elses Sukida 125 Commander just naff, as Gazz put it?
(thats the nice version - naff..)
(I dont think she's naff even tho theres alot wrong with her, she a dam good little scoot.. if only I could fix her.. ah!
any advice would be great, thanks. :) |

| I get my Sukida delivered tomorrow, I hope I get more than a year out of her! Hopefully someone on here will be able to help you....The Sukida UK website has stories of Commanders going round the world on charity rides, so you'd like to think they had some staying power. Good luck with fixing her back up. |

Do the usual... oil change, new plug, clean the air filter, check the valve clearances, check the rollers and belt and replace if necessary. consider giving it a new plug cap and HT lead as well.
Check the diaphragm under the carb lid as well if you're having poor running, check the fuel filter isn't clogged up, perhaps strip the carb down and clean it.
And with Gazz being an ex mechanic, I would have thought he'd already know all of this... or is he anti-Chinese and wants you to buy something else? All of the above are very cheap and don't take much time, I could do the whole lot in two hours with £40 worth of spares. |

I think you should adjust the valves, change the oil(s), then put in a new spark plug NGK CR7HSA, Then clean the air filter foam in soap and water dry it and put it back in, and do an idle mixture screw adjustment.
Then get some fuel system treatment at the auto parts store and pour in about 3 or 4 tablespoons in each tank of gas for two or three tank fulls.
Check the belt and variator too.
Here's links to valve adjustment and mixture adjustment guides:
Valve adjust:

Mixture screw:
http://chinesescoots.forumwise.com/chinesescoots-thread4683.html
I am confident that if you perform these tasks, your scooter will run like a top again.

Gazz said it'd cost more to fix my scoot than shes worth...aka anti-Chinese. :(
I'd love to have her running good again, but he's given up on her.
I dont have a qlue where to start.. me being a girl.. I've helped gazz fix bikes in the past...but thats with him telling me what todo. :/
I've got the cash to fix her, £40 & more.. but you know what its like, my scoot, so got to fix it myself..
everytime I say I want to fix her, he says its not worth it.. ah!
I dont get my BF at times. :(
thanks for the replys everyone,
I cant fix her myself so I'd need some help, gazz said he'd weld my mirror back on, but to get her running good again, will take alot of perswading him..
today when my key wouldnt turn in the ignition, he said Tough! and left me to it.. then I phoned him again and he came out, turned the key for me and drove off home in the car..
are all men like this? dont give a fluff about things that are important to me. soz for ranting on.. just upset because he's not botherd about my scoot.
if only I knew someone around here that would help me with my scoot.. I havent got a garage tho.. (at the flat)
at our new house we have, but I dont think BF would let anyone else use it. :/
ahh! lol
if I knew someone around here that could help me & suki out.. that would be great.. but I dont.. :( (watnall at the moment, moving to eastwood soon) |

Have you tried changing fuel filter? They cost about 2€.
Rollers might be worn out. On my friend's kymco, the rollers weren't round, but more like a moon causes they were scraped so bad. |

| PS all men have a weak spot when it comes to getting us to do what you want us to do... give you a clue, whoever said the way to a mans heart is through his stomach was aiming too high! Withhold his privileges and he'll soon be round with a socket set and a litre of oil!!! |

I put a new sticker on Suki today...
Oh Yeah! 8)
that's right.. my saying! that I came up with. hehe from somewhere else on this forum. ;)
she seems to like it, only problem is my indicators are not flashing how they should... I flick my indicator on and the light comes on but doesnt flash? anyone know whats up with them?
could they be stuck in someway, aka not flashing..?
("those place stickers are from France, when we toured europe last year in our motorhome, we took Suki on the back of the motorhome rack..which bashed her :(. dam scoot rack.. no longer got it thank goodness. :)
I made the sticker with my BF's label printer. :D |

| Check all the wires on the indicator relay, or get a new one. I've got to get another one at the moment too. They are probably one of the most problematic things on these scoots... |
