Ok, so this is weird. The first time I filled up my Wildfire 50cc about 4 weeks ago, I noticed that for the remainder of that ride the fuel gauge didn't really go back up toward F at all. On the next ride, it slowly went up to F through the course of the ride (~10 mi).
So the last 2 fill ups, the gauge has stayed on empty for about 40 or 50 miles, and then crept up to the halfway point (obviously because at that point half of the gas I put in has been burned, so it's only at half a tank) and then dropped on back down to E with I have about .1 gallons left in the tank. Is there any tuning or cleaning that one can do on the fuel gauge that will get it to go back up to F when it's full? This is a minor thing but I just don't want it to degenerate to the point where I run myself out of gas... |

Could be the sending unit/float in the tank, or it could be a loose wire on the back of the gauge itself.

| great. I pulled the sensor just now, and sure enough, as I moved the float by hand, the fuel gauge went up and down. I sprayed with wd40 a few times and also used my pliers to loosen the retaining washer just a bit so it moves more freely. Now I have to go fill 'er up and see if my gauge in fact shows full. |
