ok here goes I recently bought a yiben scooter with 16 months left on the mot and tax runs out this december now the problem I have with it is does not go more then 20 mph even on a flat road surface . I have replaced the oil , throttle cable ,twist crip and gave the filters a good clean . the more problem I have is it doesnt like hills.

Change the spark plug too.
Sounds like your scoot is restricted.

we looked and cleaned the spark plug but it looks good to us I also think the scooter is restricted it should go 40 khm but the fast it goes up hill is about 10-15 mph pretty annoying when everyone overtakes you . surely it should go a little better

You do not say where you are located, but in Europe there are scooters that are sold restricted to 25 kph which is actually a little less than the 20 mph that you are seeing. Perhaps you have one of those? If so, that restriction is usually in the CDI and is relatively easy to bypass. As for 10-15 mph on hills that certainly depends on steepness, which you did not quantify. You can get much better hill climbing ability by switching to lighter rollers in the 4.5 gram range. There are already articles on this site dealing with changing out the rollers and bypassing restrictions.

Check the diaphragm in the carb for any holes. If the valves have become a little tight, that could cause a loss of power also.

Your carb also could benifit from a rejet. a stock 50cc should run a 79-80 main jet when unrestricted. When shopping, pick up a few sizes larger and smaller just in case your bike is finicky. You don't wanna wait 2-4weeks in between jets! Not all bikes tune the same. ;)
Theres diagrams on how to pull the CDI wire. It's pointless to say what color it is anymore, since it varies from scooter to scooter even of the same make & model. Their all in the de restriction catagory marked as stickys up top.

The CDI wire,
#78-85, main jets,
4.5g roller weights for your tranny.

There you go. A nice short list to do your shopping by. ;)
