It all depends on when / if you have a full car licence. If you got your licence before 1 feb 2001 you do not need a CBT to ride a moped.
You need a CBT if you want to ride a moped (engine less than 50cc and max design speed of 50kmh).
If you pass you CBT you will get a DL 196 and be able to ride on L-plates for 2 years. If you do not pass your test within 2 years you must retake your CBT.
It gets a bit complicated after that but basically if you pass your car test whilst your CBT is valid it will never expire for a moped BUT is still only valid for 2 years on a motorcycle.
SO
If you are young and it is your first licence then yes!!

 But you didn't tell him about the blazing hoops he must sucessfully jump through on a scooter! Nor did you tell him about the scootin-wire-cross! Or the 950meter scooter dive that he must land on the front wheel or FLUNK!
Tell him the whole story!
He's gonna be so unprepared. :|
C'mon now were here to inform! :|
Not withold! |
