We've had a lot of new people register in the last couple of months now that the weather is warmer and the price of gas is through the roof and I have noticed quite a few posts regarding the mixture screw.

It needs to made clear to all that the mixture screw AFFECTS THE IDLE CIRCUIT ONLY! If your scoot won't rev or is slow or is coughing and sputtering, it has absolutely nothing to do with that screw. A black plug most likely won't be cured with the mixture screw either.

2 1/2 turns is simply a starting point for adjusting the screw. Every scoot will be different as to the final adjustment.

The high speed mixture is controlled by the size of the main jet, needle position if you have a movable washer, the type and restrictiveness of the air cleaner. The exhaust pipe and valve lash will also play a role.

Sorry if it seems like I'm ranting, but I feel it needed to be said.

I dunno about anyone else, but I wouldn't see that as ranting. Hell, us regulars and mods are sounding like a buncha broken records. Is this stickied? If not, it needs to be. ;)

My guide for mixture adjust is a sticky, so I guess I'll edit it to include this info....
