Well I started my 88cc install tonight, and have some questions, I believe the seller, has misrepresented his item, The block I have recieved, doesnt have the place for the tensioner or the little grooves for the timing chain guide...
Are these not needed, that doesnt sound right to me, Maybe some one can chime in on this for me.

Also in the 3rd and 4th pic you can see an extra hole, what would that be
for? |

It seems that you bought the wrong cylinder.
An 88cc upgrade should be exactly the same as you standard cylinder, only with a bigger bore. |

Thats what I figured, It said it fit all lifan engines and 49cc clones, So thats why I bought it, And never having mine apart, I didnt know what it looked like. I hope he will take it back.
The correct kit is from taiwan, I bought mine from a seller in the us so I would get it faster, guess thats what I get. |

its guy called auto tech or something on ebay. Lots of people have bought the kit from the feed back I read it sounds good.
Still waiting on my email back from the guy I bought my kit from, Hopefull I dont lose out on my money otherwise I will have to wait a little longer to get it.
But good news is , I cleaned up my piston and head, there was alot of carbon build up. Put it all back together and it runs fine, if not a little better..probably just in my head since I cleaned it up lol. |

Hey talon,
Do you have a link to the exact kit you bought?
I also bought my 88cc kit from this seller on E-bay, and after reading your post I got pretty shocked, since I haven't installed mine yet. I took a look at my cylinder and mine *does* indeed have the tensioner port and the guides for the timing chain guide *are* present. Phew .....
This is the kit I bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AEOIBSAA%3AUS%3A11&viewitem=&item=330238359707
Not the same as you bought? |

OK, I have a 57.5 mm bore cylinder on a Tank Sport 150cc engine. Who might have sold this? Do you guys put your plastic cover back on over the cylinder after you install the kit? Mine did not have one. Might be why the piston rings melted in to the piston. OPPS!

| That plastic is essential to the cooling system It routes the fan-blown air over the outer portion of the motor. If you leave it off, you'll be sorry. |

Make damn sure you get the timing chain on right with that cam or you'll have bent valves and a gouged piston as soon as you crank it over. |

Rotate it by hand first? lol Might help to rotate a few times and keep an eye on the cam timing.
Still is it worth it?
