Okay bit of background, found a guy selling a old Suzuki GS 125 for next to nothing, but it comes with no V5 or number plate.
Ive been told by the DVLA its simply the case of getting it MOT'd and insured, after that they can send me the log book.
All I have is the chassis number
I apparently need to call up suzuki to get the brithmark/date? Apparently they can tell what it is from the frame number
Is there anyway to check weather this bike is lost/stolen just by using the chassis number? Anyone else done something like this?
I knows its not a chinese bike, but your the only people who I know that are clever about this sort of stuff =D |

| You will probably have to get a HPI check to see if any claims have been made agaist it. But that might only cover it if it has a plate. |

I would never buy a bike with out a V5.
If it seems too good to be true then it is.

Whats a log book?
You have to log everywhere you go on your scooter??
I thought that was Soviet KGB kinda stuff.
In the end, it would just be a pencil-whipped book of lies. :|
They don't need to know about my secret lover rendezvouz. ;) |

A log book is a pink slip. |

Over here, a log book is something truckers must keep with them. They have to log their trips, what theyre hauling, their stops, mileage etc. And of corse I thought that was a bit excessive to have to keep for a little scooter.....
Nothing like a good 'ol language barrier to make one look like a total dolt. |

yeah I was worried, which is why I only paid him a £30 deposit (we got him down to £130 for it all)
Just called up suzuki, and they gave me a plate number, looked up on our system at work (we sell car parts) and the plate came back as the correct one for the bike.
Now I just have to hope its not stolen.. |
