I used Progressive Insurance here in Georgia and it costs me $85 per year. I never had a problem getting them to write a policy for both my old 150cc and now my 250cc.
I'm not sure if they insure in other countries. |

| I didn't use the word "scooter" I used the word "Motorcycle", I think that may be the problem. Insurance companies, IMO, suck and are full of beauracratic nonesense. Use the right word, and get what you want  |

Good point! That probably was the difference
Do you have PLPD or full coverage?
I paid $287 for 1 year for full coverage. |

They hear scooter and they automaticly think of pocketbike type toys. :?
The ones I talked to would only write a liability, comp, and uninsured policy. Their excuse was the deductable would be more than a new scooter.
Wasn't a bad quote though.. $55/yr |

Wow they seen you comming. My last insurer wanted $230 for full (max) coverage (1 year) for both my scoots at the time. Was Progressive.
Then I sold the 125 Chinese scoot and the price went up to $288 just for the MP3. I cancelled and went to United Marine Underwriters (on the net) and they hooked me up to American Modern Select Ins. Co. for $153 - full coverage and max liability too. |

Progressive for $75 a year just for liability. I'm older 4 cars and a house so that may be helpful in my price. Also I took the motorcycle class which helps too.
They told me they could just do liability on these things which also includes underinsured too. At first I gave them the vin # and they said they could not find it in there records or something. That's why I could only get liability which is fine because these bikes are not worth anything anyway. Can't imagine making a claim on a plastic fender for $100 bucks. <grin> |

I would think since you live in a small city the price would be a lot less than say Detroit.
I'm stuck with Cleveland prices. |

Michigan is also a "no-fault" state with a mandatory insurance law
If we HAVE to have it, they can charge more for it. |

I'm curious as to what it's gonna run me to insure that Aprilia SportCity 250cc?
I'll have to go legit with this scoot. I can't float by, and say it's a 50cc liquorcycle, like you can on the small 150s around here ;P |
