Hi there. I did a search of this section, and cannot find any information about the 2007 Qlink Commuter 250 scooter. So, I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience, information, or even unsubstantiated gossip about them?
I'm 5'2" female (157.5 cm), 135 lbs. (9.64285 st.), and have little experience with motorcycles or scooters, though I do have the appropriate license and have taken a motorcycle safety class. Needing something I can use for daily commutes (35 miles round trip), and also for a monthly 500 mile round trip (lots of freeway driving), so the 250 seems more appropriate than a 150. Really hoping it is a decent scooter.
Thanks.

That scoot is a copy of the old Honda Helix, but with the old design Yamaha engine (vertical cylinder).
I would think it would be fairly easy to maintain and or fix if necessary. Getting parts may be only slightly more difficult - there arent as many dealers selling parts for the 250's as there are 150's, but not a problem in my opinion.
It is the size you need to go on the freeway as a 150 will not go much past 55MPH without modifications. The 250 would be the bare minimum size needed for freeways.
I looked into getting a 250 for a long time as I needed to travel on freeways too, but opted for the MP3-400 as it has more passing power at 70MPH than the 250. The 250 is maxed out around 70MPH.
When you get the scoot remember to change the engine oil and rear end (gearbox oil), and put in a good NGK spark plug. Also think about putting Slime or Gook (puncture and balance sealant) in the tires. |
