Basically, how does it work?

do you apply for insurance before or after you have taken delivery of the bike?

is it legal to ride a just purchased bike home from the seller's prior to arranging insurance if CBT has been taken?

What do you do if your exact bike model isn't listed?

Is it wise to get your CBT before applying for a quote?

thanks in advance,
TJ

Youa can get a quote when every you like, before you have the bike, before your CBT. It sdoesnt matter as long as you have the details about the bike you have bought, Reg number / Vin number (maybe) colour e.t.c.
When you arrange insurance you can set a start day for it so your not paying for insurance until your actually riding.
The best thing to do is look at the list of insures on here and ring them. You will get better quotes on the phone.
Judt let them know your siutuation and details and they will do there job. Let them sort it out :)
Hope it helps

No. Things you need to legally ride on the road:

- license (or provisional with DL196 certificate)
- road tax
- MOT certificate (if bike is over three years old)
- insurance
- L plates (if on provisional)
- helmet (that's a biggy)

Ride on the road without one of these, and it's illegal.

Surely you don't need insurance until after your CBT, I suppose the CBT center has their own covering insurance?

yea you dont need insurance yourself for the CBT, but you can take out insurance before and just set a date for it to officialy start, aslong as that date is after you have taken your CBT.
Ive probably made it sound more complicated than it actually is :P
