Hi, I was wondering if any of you ever heard of a Yamaha Areox?
There is a guy selling an '04 with less than 300mi on it He wants $1250 for it. He claims he can go 65. Do you think there is any truth to that? Also, do you know of any issue with that bike? Thinking about getting it. thanks for all your help. |

One of our moderators (px166bajaj) has one. It has a two stroke water cooled motor. I think 65mph is believable.

| I see your in the US... Did they smuggle that Aerox over in coffee crates? I thought none were available or even allowed over here??? Hopefully you won't need tags, so that won't be an issue. I knew someone who was military had a Dragster 2stroke shipped over with his lawn & garden stuff. Technically he wasn't supposed to be able to get it over, and he had hell trying to tag it until he just said " Piss on it, I'm riding it anyway!". If he still has it, he rides it like a 50cc liquorcycle, totally tagless. I told him to ring me if he ever decides to sell. :P I so hope he does! :icon_pray: |

It is. The only Yamaha we have is the zuma and the vino. With all maxis excluded, the choices are next to nada for anything non-mainland china. Honda sends over even less. suzuki is maxi-only. Which leaves one of each size vespa, aprilia, and somewhere out west, you might run into a stray genuine blurr or stella. :P
The rest are rocketas, sunls and all the other sir-names for the same. |

an 04 plae over here is around 400 quid
so thats expencive
but if there rare then its not too bad |

I got to look at the bike today and all I can say is that bike is a screamer!!!
I got the thing up to 70 km with no problem would go faster if I wanted it to.The only bad thing about it is the top front plastic is cracked So now I am on a hunt for body panels ( any ideas?) I got the guy down around $1000.
and he will deliver it on Tuesday, I'll get some pics up later. Thats one fast 50! |
