Found this crawling in my bathroom so natually I had to kill it because I hate the things. I wouldn't have shown you but it's the biggest thing I've ever seen. I originally thought it was a hornet or something but I don't think we get them in this country. So its a giant killer wasp!
After this photo the battery in my camera ran out so I had to use my phone (sods law)

that is what I like to call a Yellow Jacket had one go up the sleeve of my leather jacket as I was running down the road on the motorcycle. that was an interesting sight to see me removing a leather jacket with a YJ in it at 85 mph with no hands going down the road. They leave a nasty Knot whererver they sting you. not deadly unless you are allergic to bees and things like that.

I'm pretty sure it's a hornet, I think we do get them over here cus ive had a hornets nest in the garage, they only nest on their own, the nest is the size of a golf ball and made of brown papery stuff. maybe it made a nest in your bathroom  the nests have little grub things in (I tore it down :) )

I left the window open so it must have got in through there. Not seen anymore. I tell you what, I've not relly seen wasps for years, only if I got to a park or somewhere where there's loads of rubbish and food.

I'm allergic as hell to those damn things. I can't stand the sight of em!
I was raking blueberries and drove my rake through a ground-level nest about 15yr ago. I got stung up pretty darn bad. I was told I had to be recessitated on the way to the ER. I don't remember ever being quite as miserable as I was that afternoon.
Ever since then, I've got a major phobia to those damn things. I see a hornet or just about any stinging insect, I go totally nuts. I can't get away fast enough.
I know I look & sound like a total wuss, but I can't shake what happened, or get it out of my head. All it takes is the sight of one, and I'm all to hell. I wish I could control it, but I have yet to learn how. :icon_dunno: |

Hit a ground nest with a 72" commercial riding mower. I drove that mower like a yabo on a dirt bike trying to get away from the swarm. Ended up only getting stung about a dozen times on the arm and shoulder, but man did it hurt like hell.
