bought new from atvdiscounters for $898us included shipping. Received pon 4/16/08.

- many goodies like alarm, remote start, disk brakes, 4x12 five spokes, nice paint quality and decals already applied
- so far all items functional
- had a little trouble fitting the front fairing but with a little firm wrestling all went well
- steering handlebars are off 10 degrees due to mis-welding. Not unsafe but is scewed about 10 degrees to the right. New handlebars will fix issue. I posted the 'long store' if you car to read it. Not really a big deal.
- satisfied with scooter big time lots of power and lots of fun.
- added Emco trink for $75 us seems to be good wuality and fit perfectly

looking forward many miles

Very nice gstraitman, nice to see I'm not the only one that got the silver one from them. (funny how the price went up just after I got it tho) Had the same fun with the front as you. That screw at the bottom was a PAIN to put in. lol

My steering is off as well, but it's so little I hardly even notice when riding.

If you want to see mine I posted it in the showroom. :)

Oh, and is it just me or was the manual that came with it just plain hilarious!

the manual was funny. Now they dont sell the sc-01 I guess they ran out of them
I ordered a new handlebar but really dont care if I ever get it, which I am confident I wont. I called several times just to see if they would respond. A week later I got a call that they were sending me new handlebars in a few days. That was a week and a half ago. So who knows. But the steering is fine and safe which is the main thing.
I saw our bike on you-tube primarily in 'Turkey'. Yes there are several you-tube postings on Alien like ours from Turkey. Check it out. This is good as I think the longbo alien is probably a better made bike than the SunL made for USA.
Anyway I will check your bike out in the url. Mine runs great so far and I am really happy with it.

I'm very happy with my Alien thus far... I have about 600 miles on it with the only issues coming from the dealer not doing that good of a prep. No biggie. It's a shame that something that is so cheap and easy to maintain has gained such a bad rep from poor customer service and fly by night operations.

Speaking of Chuanl vs. Sunl, does anyone here know if either of them make the Roketa line? I'm looking a upgrading to a 250cc touring scoot and would prefer it not to be a roketa. I know they all rotate through the same body molds so they all look the same. I prefer the one manufactured by Chuanl like the LB250T-2.

Atvdisounters only has the Sunl made scoots listed on ebay at this time. They have great prices however, I'm just not sold on the Sunl products unless folks on here can shed some more personal light on this subject.

Oh and the manual, has been the most entertaining part of the entire purchase. I swear they must have paid the translator by the hour. It is so funny that not only did my wife and I read it, both my 16 and 14 year old sons have read it!!!

here is what I remember from my research and reading. There are 6 factories in a city in China that calls themselves the 'sccoter capital of china', or something like that. I think the name of the city is Taizan. This cityname is on the MCO paperwork from Chuanl. Chuanl is one of the 6 factories.
The 'Sunl' I bought fromt he internet came to me as the Longo Alien, of which I was happy since it had the decals which I like. ATVDISCOUNTERS stacks them deep and sells them cheap.
I think that all the bikes from China are the same build quality including Roketta or anything else.
These bikes are 'cheap' in the sense that they are built in a place that has low labor rates. Some of the parts dont last long like fuel lines, cdi's somtimes, or whatever but I really dont give a s**t. They are cheap to replace or you can get better quality from MRP.
I like to tinker with my 'non essential' transportation vehicles.
Whith that said, I have had my alien for 120 miles, talk to me when I have more milage and I might feel differently.
If I needed a bike to go to work everyday, I would by a 'Ricer' like honda or suzuki biut I bought this bike to go to the store and piss off my neighbors since they dont have one, HA HA,
I have had mine for 120 miles and so far it runs great. A couple of months from now if I have lots of trouble I may hate the thing. For $898 US if I dont like it I can throw it away, but I dought if that will be the case. To me the bike looks pretty close to the high priced ones from Japan. I saw a Honda Helix the other day and to me it had the same build quality as the Roketta.
I have seen video from Turkey on you-Tube which shows that the Alien 150t 19A is used as a serious vehicle, so who knows.
love mine and should have bought two.

Really?

Best Mr. Spock voice

Fascinating

Spock voice off

I have a Chuanl made 150cc scooter badged as a Hitong

I am not at all satisfied with it. Poorly made with shoddy materials.

Maybe the 250cc ones are better made. That or they have improved since the 2006 model year.

The more I learn the more I believe it just doens't matter... they're all the same... 95% of them out are all cheaply made. It's more a matter of what you're willing to accept and wether or not you're willing to work on them.

So I rescind my earlier comment about preferring a Chuanl over a Sunl Alien... I've read much in past couple of weeks.... :?
