I will see if I can get pictures of my other scoots at the weekend.
I have a vespa sfera 50 auto, standard 50 barrel, seriously tunned everything else and I have had 75mph out of it.
I have a vespa pk100xl which I am intending to restore soon.
a custom painted gilera runner vx125.
a tuned yamaha jog 50 which I used to use for moped mayhem racing.
I also have a giantco 50 which I am in the middle of respraying and a jm star madness which I am having serious problems with. |

I love vespas...and would love to own one :) lol
my BF says they are naff tho... always need fixing.. ? is that true?
I dont care what he says tho, I still want one..
I like your vespa Spanner.. nicee!
if I sold my sukida commander tho, I'd only get about £300 for her.. even tho I paid £899 for her in march 07 :O crazy ey...
so not enough for one.. what vespa clones are out there? and would they be cheaper than the real thing...lol
cool Vespa..:D |

| If you are looking for a clone, a company called LML do modern copies of new and old models, and so do a company called Tamoretti, they are like vespas, but I'm not sure if they are actual copies. Nothing beats the real thing though... well... I assume as I don't own one yet :( |

the LML vespa is a very good scooter, infact alot of dealers I have spoken to say the engine is better as it has a 5 port barrel and reed valve like the T5 vespa had.
my favourite dealer, AF Rayspeeds sell the LMLs new, scott there says they are excellent.
if you wnat to get a reasonably good vespa you had better start saving, your gonna need at least a grand to get anything half decent.
I paid £700 for my px200efl about 3 years, its H reg 1990.
I have spent £700 in febuary having the engine fully rebuilt and tunned and about the same again over the last couple of years adding extras and doing stuff like new cdis, new stators etc.
more than its worth really but I love it.
be warned though, if you get one dont try to throw it around like you can a plastic fantastic TAG scooter, it'll throw you off quicker
if your not bothered about having an auto scoot them buy an ET4 vespa, theyre good, or if you can save enough one of the new granturissmo ones, my mate bought a new 250 GTS, it really moves :!: |

its a long time since ive seen a vision metin like that red one.
never as good as the early visions, they were alot easier to tune and you could throw em around more that the bigger heavier metin types.
I worked on dozens of them when I worked in the bike shop. |

| I got mine for free off a relation as my chinese one had given up the ghost. The met-in has a kind of lip at the front which is wierd as most others are straight. I know what you mean by hard to tune, I have checked everything in the guides and I can only assume its the output from the exhaust being smaller than the intake, any thoughts? It's supposed to be fast as it's a 2 stroke. |

what can you get out of it mph wise?
there are a few things that you could do to it, but its now a case of getting the parts as this scooter is whats known as obsolete, it was the year they first made em.
first thing I would do would be to ring an Auto scoot tuning specialist which deals in parts to see if you can get a decent sports exhaust for it, a leo vinci is good but get the restrictor removed before you fit it.
next change the cdi box for a derestricted one, you can still get em off ebay, next a sports variator and roller set with a kevlar reinforced drive belt and also change the torque spring on the back of the clutch.
also get a bigger main jet for the carb.
this should get you goin pretty well, but remember to also put better brake shoes in or you wont stop! |

I can get 34ish out of it, but I am pretty light.
I've checked the CDI box and it only has 5 wires. I'll have a go at the carb tomorrow. I wasn't really wanting to spend too much (saving for intensive) and as I'm trying to get a yamaha fizzy generation bike. Main jet is #72, do you think that is too small? I'll fit a freeflow and bigger jet if so. |
