Sat Apr 26, 2008 9:10 pm   My new bike... it's shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny!!!

Today has been a bloody fantastic day!!!

Met up with the owner at the bike show - top bloke, talked me through the bike then I left him counting the cash while I slapped on the Loser plates :(

Anyway, deal was swiftly done so here is my very first pic of Jinny ownership...

After a slightly wobbly, but extremely fun ride home through some nice country lanes I got my new Jinny home...

Popped out to meet another Jinlun owner in Walsall, then he followed me back to mine so we could get busy with the spanners.... top geezer, knows his stuff on bikes and it was pretty cool to see my Jinny sitting next to an identical twin!

So after a bit of work, my new bike now looks like this....

... and seeing that the fuel gauge barely registers above the red bar after being filled to the brim, it now shows this instead...

My girlfriend and I just took a run up to Cannock Chase on our bikes to enjoy the sunshine, all in all it has been a fantastic day and a brilliant introduction to Jinlun ownership!!!

Huge thanks to Pops from www.jinlunowners.co.uk for the bike, and 1Barnes1 from www.jinlunowners.co.uk for willing and able assistance :D

Thanks for the comments guys!!!

Yes it's an inline twin cylinder engine, doesn't make any more power than the single cylinder engines but it's a hell of a lot smoother than my girlfriends Sukida single pot, hers shakes your feet of the footpegs at 9,000rpm whereas mine stays smooth until the rev limit hits at 11k.

It's a bit bigger than the one Bis had, his was a Jinlun 13 which shares the same engine and gearbox but his was a copy of the Honda Rebel whereas mine is a copy of the Suzuki Marauder.

Put 200 miles on her this weekend, including riding through one hell of a thunderstorm just outside of Nottingham this evening, and neither bike missed a beat at all. We were both cruising at 60mph along the A38, mine will pull to over 70mph but Bex's Sukida is still new, it hasn't fully loosened up yet so 60mph is all it's got to give right now.

All in all - a fantastic weekend!!!

Sold it... got a couple of hundred for it with a fair few scratches and scuffs and a very very rotten exhaust!
