I had to actually go into the carb and bend that little tab thing straight to get my float and shutoff to working again. Later when I got home, I drowned the sucker with carb spray.
I know I've said it before but I'll say it again, probably everytime I gotta mess with it, I'm gonna say it:
Do yourselves a favor. Never get a scooter that has the gas tank under the floorboards! the extra few inches of cargo space under the seat is just not worth the aggravation of this flawed, cheap, slap-together, design!
For one, a GY6 motor doesn't generate enough vacuum to properly operate both the cv carb, and a vacuum fuel pump. The pump is for crap and has the life expectancy of just a few months. Same with the rubber lines. An electric pump and flow regulator will get it running again, but it'll never be 100% right, and will forever smell of gas fumes as it is impossible to totally seal up the system. Since it appears to be engineered down to the tenths of a nano-liter, only a numbers matching exact stock replacement will get the fumes down to minimal, but your right back at square one again with inadequate fuel delivery. Stick with top-tanks!! If the gas cap is in front of you when your butt is sitting on the bike, GET OFF IT AND RUN THE OTHER WAY! |

Kind of overkill isnt it. :)
Besides, there is a good chance it will stick again.
Better to just clean out the carb |

| Well, That would alleviate stress I suppose. It won't fix the binding float, but to each is own. If I saw you in the middle of an intersection doing all that, I'd probably call you in to the mental health dept and tell them about the lunatic going off on a scooter in the middle of town. :| |

The screwdriver is a: Less than 20 second "fix" whereas your method most likely would not work and it sounds like work to me and I'm a guy who prefers to work smart instead of working hard. |
