| Wed Jan 23, 2008 1:04 pm Easter Camping Weekend…anyone up for it? |
|
|
I’m planning on camping in the Forest of Dean this Easter and was wondering if anyone was up for it?
To give you an idea of the distance, if you were to start your journey
at the winter run start point I.e. Galton Bridge Station, Smethwick. It’s around a 70-mile journey, and should take no longer than 3 hours to complete.
This info is based on mopeds with 30mph top speeds, obviously larger capacity machines will get there quicker…about hour and a half on the roadster from Coventry.
The route involves riding through: Hagley, Hartlebury, Worcester, Great Malvern, Ledbury, Ross on Wye, Goodrich and finally Christchurch deep into the heart of the forest.
The campsite address is:
Bracelands Caravan & Camping Site
Bracelands Drive
Christchurch
Coleford
Glos
GL16 7NN

If there's any members interested in the Easter Camp,
I’ll be taking a ride-out on Saturday to the tranquil town of Monmouth
Best be ordering some sunshine for Easter then  :icon_sun:

I fancy it but sadly I would have to attend in the car as I have 2 kids under 2 years of age and there not that good at hanging on yet
but as long as nobody shuns me for having 4 wheels I'd probably attend  |

Just being there and enjoying the suroundings is what matters most  the kiddies will love the place :P mine did
I fell in love with the place after first camping during the 60's with some family friends, it seemed like the end of the world compared to Sevenoaks,
it got me away from noisy racetracks which is where our family spent most weekends...my Dad still does for that matter  he's supposed to be retired :!:
Anyhoo, it's really a Great place to 'chill-out' 8)

Just as soon as Doctor Bob's done his Midwifery thing, and anounces "Congratulations; it’s a child" We'll all wet the babies head
