I did it to myself again. I was browsing the ebay.uk websites looking over the diffrent scooters that are presently unavailable and some even considered illegal  Mostly the mid-size variety like the peugeot NRG yamaha Aerox and gilera runners, etc, so on...
I want to know what the sam hell make them illegal seeing that ero3 emissions are tighter than our own at the present, and a damn good explanation as to why they are so unobtainable here in the US! As gas prices shoot ever skyward and talks of leveling off is around the $5-6 amount over the next 5yrs. I'll be DAMNED if I'll ever own a vehicle that cost more to fuel than my household furnace in the winter and I surely amnot alone in that sentiment! If they were available, I know full n well they would sell big.
who do I need to have it out with? politicians? the cycle makers? all the above? I'm serious. I want to know why I cannot have one of these even if I go over and collect the damn thing myself. |

Try to register an italjet dragster 180cc in NC. :| I dare you.
That's IF you manage to smuggle it over in part or in whole overseas without a military trnsfer waiver or exemption. |

| Something to do with EPA regulations is the present excuse for why no peugeots or gilearas are exported over this way. Thing is I want a Gilera GP800. Also I wouldn't mind owning an aerox or a speedfight to tool around town on without having to worry about tagging or insuring. The feds, for whatever reason, won't allow either over these boarders. The emissions over in the UK (the euro3 I think it is), is stricter than our current regs are, so how can that be an excuse??? |

They are just illegal to own or operate is all I'm told. So if I did managed to smuggle one over in coffee crates, or somehow got it while on a military tour, I'd have to run it under the radar so to speak as like a 50cc.
Just get creative with some stickers and open it up only in the deep dark back roads I guess. :P |

hurmmm
www.atvdiscounters.com """says""" they are street legal
maybe NC just has some weird rules.
I know here in VA, if its over 50cc, it must be registered, tagged, insured, and you have to have a motorcycles licence If its under 50cc all you have to have is a helmet :P |

I already got a chinky 150. It's been a great bike don't get me wrong, but I want a Vtwin GP800 Gilera. I have been disqualified for military service because I'm deaf in my right ear. So I have no way of getting one!
The US had signed a free trade law so I want to know WTF is the problem with Americans getting ahold of these kinda bikes??? |

Yes I can make due with just about anything. Thats a great bike no 2way about that.
My point is that it's perfectly legal and possible to get a Bugatti Veyron here in this country, a Lamborghini, a Lotus, etc...Plus all the parts to build one in you garage if you wanted. But Why not a Gilera or a Peugeot cycle?? thats what is burning my butt forever now... |
