Hi guys

Wonder if anyone can tell me where I can get someone to work on my daughters ped.
She's had it for almost a year now, and its doing some strange things that concern me, and I cant personally fix. I've had a go at changing the plug to an iridium one, which made a great difierence, and have had it resprayed. It has been a great bike up to quite recently.
Currently, it is lumpy, cutting out, the accelerator goes up by itself, and stays high even though the twist grip is on low. Also we had a small fire after overfilling the bike from a can. It spilled over the motor, and ignited when the motor was run. I put it out with dry powder, but wonder if the spraying of powder has done any damage to filters/parts etc. Basically it's not safe enough for my girl, and I want it checked over.
I live in Hammersmith, and most of the local dealers/mechanics will not touch Chinese scooters, blo*dy snobs!

Any pointers to suitable mechanics would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

lol an 15w-40 oil change and filter clean should do the trick, as well as a trany oil change, but with jmstars, I'd get that front panel off and have a look at your lines, I have one of these bikes, the jmstar madness, it ran great for a while but found it needed some care to keep it in good nick, but once the little things are done it will last ages!
I'm in hammersmith also, if ya need someone to take a look I can have a butchers, or you can try motard, there a small garage near wandsworth bridge, and they do a lot of chinese scooters. there number is 020 7228 8880

Thanks Bobbyboy and Fox, I checked Avsco in Watford, and Andy and Jed are great! You couldnt find two more helpfull people. A wealth of knowledge too, we learnt quite a bit about the bike. It might sound dim, but we didnt know that when you start it up, you have to wait about half a minute for the automatic choke to return to normal from high revving to give the motor a chance to work its oil around. Otherwise you do the engine damage if you just rev and go, as the engine is unprotected. Also we had a problem with it draining its battery and jessica had to keep revving it to keep it from cutting out. They re-set the idle and did a full service, and said that her battery was draining as she had her brake on as she was revving it at the lights, and this was a draw on the battery, and brakes!
It works really good now in terms of not cutting out. Seems to have a power flatspot sometimes, where the power curve just seems to die, and it doesnt do more than 30mph (unless its downhill, or off a cliff) but were quite happy with it.
Bobbyboy, we live on Stamford Brook Road, it would be good to pick your brain sometime about the jmstar. I will definatelly consider using the Wandsworth contact as although Avsco are great, they are a long way away, and my daughter can't find her way there on her own.
We all couldnt figure how to get the most power out of this bike though. I posted previously here asking how to de-restrict the bike, and got a reply based on a Baotian. It said basically, cut a pink wire, remove a bush, and do summat to a needle in the carb. All of which the Avsco guys tried but to no avail. Still stuck at 30. Any other ideas gratefully received.
Anyway, thanks for the leaders guys.
Have included a picture of Jessica's first day on her ped!

Stamford Brook Road is not far from me, no worries if ya need a hand with it, just let me know, I have found out a few things about the derestricting, the pink wire everyone talks about is behind the front panel, it's the cdi wire, but I tryed it with mine and not much luck, the best thing I found was to get a new cdi, www.xinlingworld.com sells em, there a snap to install and quite cheap, but you'll still only get it to about 35 to 40mph at a push.I hammer mine down wood lane late at night to try to get it to top speed, and I've only got it to 40mph!
still it's a labour of love with these chinese bikes lol
