I took a pushbike over (a long time ago) and it was a nice day but still plenty of wind!

I ride across the Forth Bridge every day as I live in Dunfermline but work in central Edinburgh. No real problems except when the wind gets up which can be a bit of a white knuckle experience.

The Forth Bridge has a good website which includes up to the minute travel information.
http://www.feta.gov.uk/

My tip would be, if the alerts say "Strong Winds - Speed Restriction On The Bridge", then it's OK to cross although it will be blustery.

If the alert moves up to "Closed To Double Deckers", then it's crossable but I would avoid it if possible.

The next level of alert closes the Bridge to High Sided Vehicles, Caravans...and motorbikes, so you've had it ! I've had to leave my scoot in Edinburgh and bus it home on one or two occasions when the wind has got up during the day.
