The cheapest insurer I found when insuring my sukida sk50qt was Bennets, I tried loads of different insurers, hastings didnt want to know and neither did an acyual insurance group dedicated to scooters. Bennets saved me about £200 and I would recommend them to any one. also the exces you have to pay is only £125 if any one found another good one please tell me

In USA a small 50cc can be carried by your homeowners or renters insurance. 8)

Carol Nash can match Bennets, usually with a lower excess too.

I know theres no policy on my scoot itself. What I took to the tag office was a liability policy on my drivers license. I don't know if she was supposed to accept that or not but luckily for me she did. This state don't offer insurance policys on scooters other than honda silverwings and the maxi-scoots like it listed as motorcycles.

Yeah, I am not sure. In Indiana, if it is 49/50cc you don't need insurance, but you can get your homeowners to cover it in case you wreck it or it is stolen. Anything bigger it is motorcycle insurance, and that is expensive.

I use www.ebikeinsurance.co.uk for my Baotian 125. They only offer 3rd party (not sure why), but DO offer month to month policies, so if you just want to insure your scoot for the better summer month or even months in extreme cases! - you can.

You also get 365 days of green card cover, so if like me you hang your scoot on the back of your motorhome whilst visiting Europe - you are covered!

I have mine insured through Progressive, and I bought it online. It is under the motorcycle section. I have a Strada Rx8i, but insured it under a Vento Triton (same scoot). I declined any coverage on it, because let's face it, any deductible on a vehicle that only cost $1400 is kind of silly. Soooo, I just have the required liability and unisured motorist, and it only cost me $75 for a year.

They have a pretty comprehensive list of scoot manufacturers, and if yours isn't listed you can do an unknown or not listed (can't remember exactly what the options are) and you just put in the VIN and the size of the engine. Same price too.

In the us, it's hard to find an agent that'll cover a scooter thats not a honda yamaha or suzuki. In a nutshell, if you cant pronounce it, they wont insure it. :p
What I had to do and I'm not sure I was supposed to have gotten a tag this way, but I took out a liability policy on my licence. thru progressive, and I took that to the dmv and they issued me a tag, just like a honda. :D

I just got the tag for mine yesterday. I have a Strada Rx8i, and while Progressive didn't have my specific bike, they did have a Vento Triton. So I did that, and it didn't kick the VIN back. Also, like I mentioned, Progressive Online has the "Not listed" manufacturer option.

I think the key is to do it online. Agents usually just tend to only know what they deal with the most, whereas the online options are just drop down menus and are a bit more...flexible when it comes to realizing there are unknown issues that may arise.

rampdale is quite good £138.00 third party only

rampdale and also equity redstar are the only people I found to insure ningbo longja 125cc (madness 125cc)

redstar quote was £145.57

when looking to insure my 16 year old daughter, most companies , including those 'specialising' in chinese scooters were quoting £200 for third party only and if you went to TPFT the excess was often £500, which is often more than the used value of a chinese scooter in the event of a claim, hence why they end up with Third party only. Eventually I discovered Bike Team insurance who quoted apprx £220 TPFT and only £100 excess. It's worth shopping about and reading th excesses!

Bennets, £70 TPF&T for a garaged 50cc, bonus! Excess is pricey tho, if its nicked then £150, if its nicked between the hours of 10pm and 6am outside the garage then it doubles....

You get lucky when you get older. My insurance cost me 51 quid for tpft.I'm 37 with a bike licence with a chinky scoot. My son is 16 and insures a honda c50 for 135 a year tpft.A lot of the time with the young ones the insurance is worth more than the bike.
