Don't know if you know already, but there's a bit of a do in Southend on Easter Monday. "Southend Shakedown" it's bikes and scooters and it happens on the seafront, I'm going with my club, but in my van.
It looks like this
I look like this
If you see me come and say hello! I don't bite. |

I hope you dont mind a long walk, you wont get anywhere near the bikes with parking a van.
You could get to the back of Victoria station and possibly park in B&Q, off Sutton road take St Anns road (nr Guildford pub/ Co-op) and you will find the entrance, the walk through the town centre, if thats any help.
If not you might be able to get a place in Boscombe road, opposite the big flats in Sutton road.
Say Hello to my bruvver while you're there, he lives in St Anns road, ta.
I went a few years ago, massive show, saw my 1 & only sighting of a Boss Hog! |

Hmm might throw my bike in the back and drop the passengers off then ride back into town!
If I was more of a man I'd make the females stay at home! |

That's what I did in the end. Managed to park in Leamington road, 5 mins away, and ferry the girls one by one down to the seafront. Then met friends and went for fish and chips and a beer.
Twist n go Lambretta. (When will the Chinese make one?
One for Hazy
Del, from The Odd Mod Squad
There were quite a few chinese bikes there. I saw a Jinlun 125 and one of the retro 50s as well as several of the Kymco Cobra style |

Did you bring me back a stick of rock and a 'kiss me quick hat'?
Then nip down to Leigh cockle sheds for the best cockles in the world! |

I did buy a stick of rock, but my daughter scoffed it!
Funnily enough my Scooter came from Scooter Central at Westcliff on Sea about 3 miles away from here, in a van. It ended up going back to it's original home in a van! |

Oh yes, London road, the original motor city (without the great soul music!) Arfur Daily's line both sides of the road! Car dealers paradise, trading standards worst nightmare!!
Couple of good bike shops along there too, including one of the original Honda dealers dating back from the early 60's, Costins. They were going before honda, selling the last of the British Empire, BSA. Matchless etc.
Got my very first new road bike there, Honda 50, green, BHJ 703K, you did'nt see it Monday did you? |
